Colleen Fawk StromColleen Fawk Strom graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy with high honors in 1997 where she studied viola performance with David Holland. During her studies at Interlochen, Mrs. Strom performed with artists such as Andre Watts and Joseph Silverstien. She also performed with the World Symphony Youth Orchestra in the 1996 Olympic Arts Festival in Atlanta, GA. After receiving numerous academic and performance-based scholarships, she completed her bachelor's degree in Music Education, Magna Cum Laude, from Stetson University in 2001. There, she also continued her performance studies with Dr. Routa Kromouvitch-Gomez and Dr. Alvaro Gomez. In 2003, Mrs. Strom continued her studies and earned a master's degree in music education from The Florida State University. From 2003-2006, Mrs. Strom served as the Director of Orchestras from McLane Middle School where her students consistently earned superior ratings for outstanding performance in the Florida Orchestra Association Music Performance Assessments and Solo & Ensemble Festivals. She now serves as the Director of Orchestras at Benito Middle School where her students continue to earned the highest performance ratings. In 2006-2007, Mrs. Strom served as the Hillsborough County Middle School Honors Orchestra Chairman and has continued to hold that position through the 2009-2010 school year. Mrs. Strom also serves as String Concertino Conductor for the Tampa Metropolitan Youth Orchestras in addition to being a certified adjudacator for the Florida Orchestra Assocation. |
